About Jerrod Kay

Born in Denver, CO I spent my first 23 years along the front range. Attending Colorado State University, I earned my degree in Finance with an emphasis in Corporate Finance. I had originally gone to CSU in the hopes of being a chemist, then a year later a geologist for either the USGS or as a park ranger. In 2008 I was hired to Accenture and asked to relocate to the Chicago office. On Thursday, January third at 2:30AM I packed up whatever would fit into the bed of my 1998 Toyota Tacoma (named Girdy) and drove to Chicago. I spent a year with Accenture until I was laid off in February of 2009. If it hadn't been for me meeting the love of my life, and now wife Chelsea Schiano Kay, I would have packed my truck back up when I was laid off and headed back to the Rockies. Instead I spent the next 6 months out of work until I got a job with kCura, a small software company. My time spent at kCura was simultaneously terrible and rewarding. I found the environment and people to not be to my liking and jumped at the chance to return to Accenture when they started rehiring us analysts back. In retrospect, I learned more in those few months at kCura than I did in my three working years before and after. I had been the 49th employee hired, and now a little over two years later they are triple that with no signs of slowing down. Instead though I returned Accenture to pick up where I had left off; for better or worse.
